Travel nurse is a career choice which you opt for when there is demand for short term nursing jobs into big clinics and hospitals. This job has become quite familiar these days in United States. They have got 4 weeks to 52 weeks assignments in whole of country, and on each assignment they are provided with furnished apartment close to the hospital for their convenience.
These days lots of hospitals try to recruit these nurses to fulltime nurse if they are happy with their performances. And to obtain this job they need to get a license also which is valid for one year.
There are many companies who hire these nurses and place them to different hospitals and for individual services also for the people who need them at their homes, like for taking care of their old and ill parents.
They also hire them to take care of the children of working mothers who don’t get time to look after their children while they are out at work. Some travel nursing jobs are meant to span just a short period where a full-time nurse has left and a replacement has not yet been found.
This puts the traveling nurse in the driver’s seat - you get a guaranteed short term position, with a good likelihood that you can turn it into a long-term position if you are happy with the position.
